THE BRANDING MESSAGE IS FOR ARMY BOYS IN SINGAPORE TO BE AWARE THAT THEY CAN TOO TAKE CARE OF THEIR SKIN AND BODY EVEN WHEN IN OUT FIELD.

The video opens with a wide-shot of a forest. It is important to establish the setting and the mood of the video early. Since the payoff later needs more time to elaborate, i suggest we jump straight into the thick of action with the characters already on a mission and is focusing on their goal. With the help an intense thrilling music, we capture our audience’s attention almost immediately that this two reservist men means business. We subtly introduce hints that this video is a comedy by having his buddy trips and fall during the intense mission. Audience will notice that Wei Liang is the smart one since he is the one giving orders to his buddy. We have two twist in such a short duration, so the building up to the revelation of the twist should be timely and direct. We see the Van as the van. With less gimmicky approach in the choices of shot composition, the element of surprise will be more impactful when it is later reveal why Wei Liang and his buddy is surrounding and seems like they are securing the van.

Revolving around the theme of temptation, I choose to start with reaction shots before the reveal. By doing so, audience will be tempted to know what and why constantly throughout the video. In this instance, we see a two-shot of Wei Liang and his buddy enters from camera left into the frame, they react with a shock. Audience at this point of time, wants to know and is tempted to know what they saw. Then, we reveal a ninja in the van by using a low angle shot of it to portray a superiority yet humble and cosy interior of a van. A new beginning, a new music, a fantasy is about to unveil. As it is a exaggerated scene, it needs to be compliment by a fantasy like music where audience could feel that they are in a hobbit world.

Using the sound of astonishment from the characters enhances the born of the product. Coming back to the temptation theme, is the mission accomplish ? We continue to tempt our audience with yet another surprise, which is Wei Liang entering the frame with Mud Serum Foam on his face. In slow-motion, he scrubs and washes his face with a contented facial expression. Whenever we cut to the buddy, it goes back to real time. It will turn Slow-motion when the camera is focus on Wei Liang, showcasing that he enjoys using the Nivea products. Using an abrupt scratch sound effect, it breaks from the fantasy into reality when we see the Encik in the background. The encik catches them and reprimands their action.
